Joanne Campbell

Mrs. Campbell teaches first grade at NWA Classical Academy. This is her 1st year with Responsive Education and her 18th year as a teacher and tutor. Previously, she has taught at a private Christian school, a charter school, the public-school system, as well as homeschooling her children. Mrs. Campbell has worked as a private tutor for several years specializing in literacy. She has taught every grade from PreK to college level and many different subjects. She has also taught Special Education and worked as a Library Media Specialist and College Library Director. Mrs.Campbell earned a BS from Northern Illinois University and a MLS from the University of North Texas. She is certified in PreK - 4th grade and Library Media Specialist K-12. In April, Mrs. Campbell and her husband, Richard, celebrated 12 years of marriage. They have 4 children all in their 20’s. Their oldest is a teacher in Colombia, South America, the second works for Walmart and is the mother of their 3, soon to be 4, grandchildren, the third works in finance in Tulsa, and their only son is a nurse in the US Army. Outside of school, Mrs. Campbell enjoys music, camping, traveling, reading, playing board games and cards, biking, and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Campbell and her husband play in a Christian rock band. She leads Preschool worship at her church. She is passionate about education and loves children.
